Summary Description:
Our company operates a range of systems and processes. As a data automation engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating data transfer processes. This entails identifying existing processes, and proposing solutions, developing, implementing, testing and maintaining automated solutions.
As part of our Research and Development team, you will collaborate closely with other software engineers, analytics engineers and systems specialists, as well as cross-functional teams to deliver the automations in the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Pythonic data transfer solutions to meet business needs across the software lifecycle, including development, implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance thereof.
  • Analyze existing business processes, map out workflows, and identify areas for optimization and automation using Python scripts and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, Operations, and Client Success, to understand their specific needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources for deploying and scaling containerized applications developed as part of automation solutions.
  • Proactively seek feedback from end-users, identify opportunities for further optimization, and implement iterative improvements to enhance process efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation tools and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Python programming language for the purposes of developing data transfer processes.
  • Strong aptitude in basic programming and computer science principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including articulating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive and self-starting attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional project management skills.

Highly Valued Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with commercial pipeline tools, cloud and/or database infrastructures.
  • Proven experience in managing a system of record, preferably in a financial context.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the technology stack used by the research and development team at InDebted.
  • Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability to manage the large number of ongoing deliverables being worked on at the same time.
  • Prior experience working as a technical specialist or developer in the data field.
  • Familiarity with data structures, modern databasing technologies, visualisation tools and development tools.
  • Great working attitude and a keen interest in further professional development.

  • SQL, Python, Snowflake, AWS Athena, S3, Langchain

How does success looks like in the next 6 or 12 months:

  • Should be relatively self sufficient in proactively identifying planning and executing automation base tasks in a cross departmental environment.
